Alexa Chung was in London yesterday looking skinnier than ever. The 26-year-old celeb wore a red tartan shirt for the day out, but ended up highlighting her skinny legs with the tight trousers. Perhaps she should have grabbed some lunch in London at one of the top restaurants.
Alexa’s weight has always been an issue, with the former model having to previously defend her size from showbiz gossips.
She said in 2008: ‘My weight is dwindling as I don’t have time to go to the supermarket. I speak to my mum most days and she always asks what I’ve had to eat. She gets very upset when I say: “Uh, I forgot.”
‘My dream breakfast is Eggs Florentine or Almond Croissants, but I never get it. I’m thinner now than I’ve ever been because I’m working so hard.’
And last year, Alexa’s spokesperson Liz Matthews was forced to deny rumours Alexa was suffering from an eating disorder when the star was spotted looking especially thin at an event.
At the time, Matthews said: ‘She’s a very slim build. That’s her sister’s build, her mother’s build. There’s no problem with her weight whatsoever.
‘Everybody’s body looks different depending on what you wear. It’s very easy to find a picture with bones sticking out.
‘Alexa’s weight hasn’t changed for four years and she takes her role as a style icon and someone young girls look up to very seriously.’
British-born Alexa is currently in London following a stint in New York where she presented MTV show “It’s On With Alexa Chung”.
It appears that Lindsay Lohan does have some acting talent: she spoke with several magazines and feigned confusion over why photographers would be so interested in following her around on her escapades in New York,LA, and her other various haunts. In an effort to avoid the press, Lohan plans to move to London where she feels people are less judgemental. She recently posted on twitter:
“Moving to the UK is in my near future – better DJs/music, and Paris is just a chunnel away!”
Grunge rocker and live music enthusiast Courtney Love has told friends she is down to her last £75 and is set to be kicked on to the streets. The widow of the legendary Kurt Cobain, former lead singer with 90’s band Nirvana and one of the biggest sources of celebrity gossip at the time, said she could not even afford to take her daughter Frances Bean, 17, out to lunch.
Love, who is living in New York’s Mercer Hotel, texted a pal saying: “I’m f****d now dude. I have 120 bucks, my kid hasn’t had a decent meal and I’m getting evicted.”
The former Hole singer was last month banned by the courts from accessing the trust fund left for her daughter when her husband killed himself in 1994.
She claims she has had more than £300 million stolen from her by fraudsters since 2003 and has even hired investigators to try to track down the missing money.
Perhaps Andrew Lloyd Webber will be singing ‘Think of Me’ as he brings the sequel to his legendary Phantom of The Opera stage play to the London West End theatres.
The new musical will be called ‘Love Never Dies’, and is due to open in London in March 2010. It will be also staged in New York beginning in November 2010 and will open in Australia in 2011.
The musical picks up a decade after the original’s conclusion, and has the Phantom trading his customary hideout beneath the Paris opera house for Coney Island, the iconic Brooklyn amusement park known for its roller coasters and “Nathan’s Famous” hot dogs.
Lloyd Webber said he wanted to produce a sequel because the original’s ending, which sees Christine leave the brooding Phantom for his rival, Raoul, was unsatisfactory.
Madonna’s 23 year old play thing, boyfriend Jesus Luz, has struck gold – almost literally. The 51 year old superstar celebrity has reportedly ordered estate agents to find her young beau an apartment in New York costing up-to £1.7 million (almost $2.7 million).

The property will be in Jesus’s name and he will have complete ownership of it after Madonna has laid out the cash. The Queen of Pop has decided it’s too soon for the couple to move in together so buying him a home in the area where she lives is the perfect solution.
A source close to the singer said, “She really wasn’t kidding when she told him he’ll never have to worry about money from now on.”
Gossip columnists are still trying to fathom what the gorgeous 23 year old model sees in a more than middle aged woman who still throws herself around in skimpy lycra bodysuits – rumours suggest they may find their answer in Madge’s purse.
Singing celebrity Lady GaGa shocked the audience at the MTV Video Music Awards in New York last Saturday as she did a gruesome stunt: faking her own death.
During a performance of hit single Paparazzi, the singer, 23, pretended to stab herself in the chest while covering herself in fake blood.
After disappearing off stage, Lady GaGa then reappeared hanging limply from a cord suspended from the roof.
Anti-suicide campaigners were not amused.
‘This act is not cool: sensationalising and romanticising suicide is irresponsible,’ says a spokesperson for Papyrus – the national charity for prevention of young suicides.
‘Celebrities, who are often idolised by young people, need to be more aware of the impact that such acts can have on vulnerable young people.’
