Former Model Anna Friel keeps cool at Haymarket Theatre in London as Audience Member throws up their Breakfast At Tiffany’s

Saturday, November 7th, 2009

Actor and former model Anna Friel nearly forgot her lines when a spectator threw up over fellow members of the audience during a performance of Breakfast At Tiffany’s at a London theatre recently.

The sickly audience member vomited from the upper balcony of the London West End based Haymarket Theatre all over six people sitting below as Friel was halfway through a song.

But she proved to be a true professional and carried on with the job of entertaining as those involved in the incident were ushered out of the auditorium to be cleaned up. A search for the culprit then ensued. The embarrassed theatre goer was found and even managed to recover in time to return for the second half of the performance.

Friel has received rave reviews in the London papers for her performance in the adaptation of the Truman Capote novella, which runs until January 2010.

She strips for one scene as Holly Golightly – the role made famous by Audrey Hepburn in the 1961 film of the book – a move which prompted a ban on the audience taking photos of her in the nude.

What Audrey would have made of it we don’t know…

First Son of Coleen Rooney & Wayne Rooney – Kai Wayne Rooney – Born

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009

Coleen Rooney, wife of Premiership and England footballer Wayne Rooney, gave birth to a baby boy who was named Kai Wayne Rooney at 2:30pm on Wednesday.

The part-time television presenter and WAG’s son was born in Liverpool – the English city where she grew up – at an NHS hospital.

A spokesperson for the celebrity gossip magazine headline grabbing couple said: “Mother and baby are both absolutely fine. Wayne and Coleen are thrilled with the wonderful addition to their family life.”

It has been widely reported in the London papers that Wayne Rooney plans to have his son Kai’s name tattooed on him – a trend amongst celebrities.

It is thought that the youngster may have been named after Mayfair restaurant Kai Mayfair which is one of the best London restaurants for Chinese food.

Bookies have already offered odds on whether Kai will follow in his father’s footsteps and make the Championship League but so far the best offer is 66-1. No doubt odds would be shorter if it was a question of playing the London club scene like Calum Best the son of a fellow Manchester United legend!

Starsuckers Celebrity Gossip Hoax Film Dupes London Papers

Sunday, October 18th, 2009

Three British papers discussed buying confidential medical information about actor Hugh Grant, director Guy Ritchie and other celebrities in a hoax set up by a documentary film maker.

As part of the documentary “Starsuckers”, which premieres at the London Film Festival later this month, the filmmakers also planted several fake reports with British tabloids to expose inaccurate celebrity gossip being reported.

“We wanted to do a test to see how they would react,” director Chris Atkins told Reuters. “It is just showing the public what goes on behind the stories that they pay for every day.”

The Starsuckers team posed as members of the public to offer the papers fabricated stories about well known-figures to test whether the journalists would check the facts.

“We kept trying to do things that they wouldn’t print and it happened a couple of times but they pretty much printed most of what we said,” Atkins said, adding that their stories had featured in The Sun, Daily Express, Daily Mirror and Daily Star newspapers.

London Concierge Service Opens Doors to Top London Night Clubs, Celebrities Welcome

Friday, September 25th, 2009

London is famous for having had the world’s best club scene for more than 100 years. The wildest characters and celebrities such as Oscar Wilde, Jimi Hendrix, and the young Royals have all enjoyed participating in late-night revelry at the exciting parties and events they host. Even Jane Austen’s fiction focused around the courtship rituals her fictional debutantes played out in the club court life of the early 1800s.

Many of today’s fashionable Londoners use the services of a company that works with the top London night clubs they are so keen to be seen at including legendary names from the gossip columns like Amika, Boujis, Cafe de Paris, Embassy, Funky Buddha, HeyJo Club, Kensington Roof Gardens, Valmont and Vendome. Forbidden London Clubs is a Mayfair based concierge service, events organisation and PR Company run by James J.W. Wilson, a young entrepreneur who is working with characters as diverse as Vivienne Westwood – on a stage production of her Active Resistance Manifesto; Peter Stringfellow and civil rights advocate Dave West. His company has worked with most of the high-end clubs that celebrities are frequently snapped at for celebrity magazines and newspapers.

James explains: “Forbidden London offers an amazing chance for new people and new faces to gain the opportunity to rub shoulders with some of the world’s most famous and glamorous people. And party with the elite. We are offering something no-one else has done before.”

“Everyone want a taste of the highlife? With much of the news at present being taken up with tales of economic woe and environmental chaos, the glamour and escapism of a night out at a VIP club or a trip to the theatre is extremely appealing to many. People are still willing to pay for a night out when a holiday is out of the question. The whole ritual of getting dressed up and arranging a night out with friends is something many can’t and won’t consider living without, even if they have to make other sacrifices.”

“This rings true particularly if there is a chance of meeting someone as special as a prince, for example.”

He elaborates: “Some of the clubs frequently have Prince Harry as a guest – anyone with their eyes on him or perhaps looking to date a young model will be delighted they can now rub shoulders with the people they dream of marrying or befriending.”
